PCR technology development

How a request becomes a working assay: algorithm work, marker development and the software that carries both to the bench.

What we develop

Design algorithms

Search and scoring methods for optimal primers and probes — thermodynamic modelling, dimer and secondary-structure prediction, degenerate and modified oligos, and specificity screening by in silico PCR.

Assay workflows

Complete assay development for qPCR, endpoint PCR, multiplex panels, LAMP, genotyping and targeted sequencing, including the conditions and controls needed to reproduce them.

Polymorphism detection

Marker systems for plant, animal and human genomes based on simple repeats, retrotransposons and tandem repeats — designed in silico, then validated in the laboratory where the project requires it.

Custom software

Tools built around a specific laboratory workflow, from a single calculation to a full desktop application — the same engineering that produced FastPCR and the WebTools suite.

Where it ends up

FastPCR

The desktop application these algorithms ship in.

Have a development problem?

Describe the assay or the analysis you need and the constraints around it. We will tell you whether it is a design job, a software job, or both.
